I was just wondering what you people think about animals in heaven. When I was very young, I remember telling my mom that I loved our dog. She told me that I could not "love" the dog because dogs do not have a soul and they won't go to heaven. I was devastated. For me, her opinion about loving animals is completely wrong. I know I love my dog, and many other animals that have been in my life. But as far as animals being in heaven, I hope she was wrong about that too. Scripture, ...

Hope you are all having a joyous Easter!

Just wanted to let you know about a new(ish) show on EWTN that will air today(Wednesdays) at 5PM.

It's called "Catholic Church: Builder of Civilization" and it features Dr. Thomas Woods, Jr., who wrote "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization."

I watched last week's episode and was thrilled. It is a really fantastic show, and Tom has no shortage of fascinating facts to share. This week's episode is devoted solely ...

Ok, my plan every week is make time to go to one of the local Parishes and sit in adoration or a daily Mass. I would like to say that I make it every week, but that just does not happen. Work is crazy busy, and I have guilt when I take time for myself. So I never get to go as often as I like.

This week I blocked off an hour and was adamant that I was going to go to something. Today was the day. I was in a dilemma - go to adoration or Mass. I decided to go for adoration. I went to my favorite ...

I live in Bergen County, NJ. Paramus, NJ is the home of many shopping malls. The oldest one, now named the Bergen Town Center, has been the home to a Carmelite Chapel since its inception. It is served by retired priests and there are 3 masses on weekdays and 4 on Saturday (2 Saturday and 2 vigil).

I go there for First Saturday Mass and also because confession is heard the old fashioned way. Most of the congregants are on the older side but some young people also come. I love to go ...

Happy Leap Day!

Rumor has it that women may propose on Leap Day and that a man who refuses a woman’s proposal is obligated "to compensate her with anything from a kiss to money to a silk gown as a way to soften the blow of rejection." St. Bridget and St. Patrick are given credit for the start of this tradition, which originally included all of Leap Year.

Aside from the origination of this folklore, many women do use this day as an opportunity to propose.

Hmmm....

Hey, I'm just sayin'! ...
