When I was very young, I remember telling my mom that I loved our dog. She told me that I could not "love" the dog because dogs do not have a soul and they won't go to heaven. I was devastated. For me, her opinion about loving animals is completely wrong. I know I love my dog, and many other animals that have been in my life. The Pope yesterday had a private audience with NBCs Tim Russert and well as CNN's John King and Wolf Blitzer. Now I assume that it is true, but did not know about it until I heard about it. It seems that there are better people in the media who deserve a meeting of the Pope who are true champions of the faith. Paramus, NJ is the home of many shopping malls. The oldest one, now named the Bergen Town Center, has been the home to a Carmelite Chapel since its inception. It is served by retired priests and there are 3 masses on weekdays and 4 on Saturday (2 Saturday and 2 vigil). I go there for First Saturday Mass and also because confession is heard the old fashioned way. Most of the congregants are on the older side but some young people also come. I love to go ...
