Hi Wonder, I am going to give you my own feeling about this. When we go into Mass, we are seeing a reinactment, if you wil,l of the crucifixion of Christ from the from the "Last Supper" to the Ressurection. This is not that it is happening all over again. You do not see the birth of our nation all over again on July 4th, but when we see events depicted about the birth of our nation it is a reinactment. This is something that I think the Protestant churches miss so dearly. When they have only the cross in their churches, they miss the BIG STORY, the headliner. They broke into programming with their "Special Reports" durring the Ressurection when they should have said,"This is CNN (Catholic News Network) Breaking News."
This BIG STORY was indeed the Crucifixion of Christ, and one of the reasons that I am Catholic is that I want to be reminded that He died on the cross for us. I hope that makes sence!
