Hi Wonder4u,
Here's a helpful tract from Catholic Answers:
The Rapture
For further reading, I'd recommend The Rapture Trap by Paul Thigpen.

In addition to the great sources Cindy gave, if you would like an audio talk on the subject, go to http://www.biblechristiansociety.com/download
There is a talk about the Rapture from a completely biblical view. After reading Cindy's references, listening to this talk, and checking the scriptures out for yourself, you'll see that your friend isn't as well versed in the bible as he lets on. He is instead, well versed in what his brand of fundamentalism teaches. I don't mean that as a slight on him, but he has been led into a poor understanding of the bible and the true teachings of Christ. You will need to be on guard that he doesn't try to draw you in also.

I second this! This audio by John Martignoni is OUTSTANDING for understanding the Catholic position on the issue!

Re: the rapture
thank you all for all the helpful answers. i am presently in a situation with someone who i love. it is difficult to listen to some things he talks about when i believe differently on some issues. i don't argue, but sit in silence most of the time. he thinks i need to hear him preach me the gospel, he feels i need it and don't have enough with the catholic church. thank you again

It is important, then, for you to study the faith and learn more every day. And, of course, one can never underestimate the power of prayer.
You don't need to know all the answers but perhaps you will read a book or listen to a CD that will allow you to say, "Check this out... let me know what you think." I pray your loved one will be open to see the truth of the Catholic faith.

Re: the rapture
You know, I have read various things about the rapture and the Catholic position. I find most of them to be too complicated for my simple mind. Here is my take:
Jesus is coming back.
We don't know when
Be ready.

This part is SO true...and in addition to that, I would bet that not one of us will be around for the "rapture" anyway...we simply need to be ready for the end of our stay here, which will be here sooner than any of us can imagine.
