Happy Leap Day!
Rumor has it that women may propose on Leap Day and that a man who refuses a woman’s proposal is obligated "to compensate her with anything from a kiss to money to a silk gown as a way to soften the blow of rejection."
St. Bridget and St. Patrick are given credit for the start of this tradition, which originally included all of Leap Year.
Aside from the origination of this folklore, many women do use this day as an opportunity to propose.
Hmmm....
Hey, I'm just sayin'!
